Dr. Eddie Peasant is in his 18th year as an educator and his third year as principal at Clinton High School.  He is a native of Mobile, Alabama.  He began his teaching career in 1993 at Century High School in Century, Florida as a band director.  In 1994, he relocated to Jackson, Mississippi where he served as Director of Bands at Murrah High School until 2002.  He worked as an assistant principal at Clinton High School for three years and as principal at Gulfport Central Middle School for three years before returning to Clinton High School.

Dr. Peasant received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi with a concentration in instrumental music.  In 1998, he earned a Master of Education from Mississippi College in Education Administration.  He received his Specialist in Education in 2005 and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 2006 both from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He believes it is important that educators understand that all students are different and that we must take time to discover those differences.  Educators must also take time to help students discover and develop their individual talents.  Excellence is the only option in the Clinton Public School District and the expectation at Clinton High School is that all students will be challenged to reach or exceed his or her highest potential.  As always…Go Arrows!
